Overview

The SPP 2176 is committed to promoting equality and diversity in academia. With the equality funds provided by the DFG, we support individual and collective initiatives aimed at creating a more inclusive research environment.

What We Support

Individual Support Measures

Through several calls for proposals, we have funded a range of personal career-enhancing activities, such as:

  • Career development coaching
  • Professional training and qualifications
  • Funding for support staff to reduce researchers’ administrative workload (female parents)

Cross-Group and Structural Measures

Our structural equality initiatives include:

  • Establishment of a Gender Equality Coordination Office within SPP 2176
  • Support of Gender and Diversity Consulting at the University
  • Awareness and training activities across the program
  • Information emails to researchers about local equality offices and opportunities at their universities
