Career Academy 2023 -2026
A network of emerging researchers in the context of scientific studies on Iran
In the Career Academy, scientists who are still in the middle of their careers can
- strengthen their scientific profile,
- expand and deepen their network,
- discuss their research in an unofficial setting,
- gain new knowledge in trainings,
- and learn about the career paths of other scientists.
The Career Academy focuses on archaeology and other sciences related to Iran and Middle Asia.
This is what we do:
DIGITAL – MEETINGS | WORKSHOPS
The scientists in the network exchange information about their own research topics, experiences, and their projects. This takes place in regular meetings and in thematic workshops that are jointly decided and organised.
TRAININGS
The Iranian Highlands coordination project plans to fund regular online workshops on presenting, writing and applying in an academic context, academic standards, GIS skills etc. (block courses, in English). Career Academy participants can also jointly decide on other topics.
FUNDING
Members of the career academy. either in groups or individually, may apply for opportunities within the funding possibilities of the SPP 2176 (gender equality and affiliate measures).
INTERCULTURAL ISSUES | CAREER PATHS
The academy may invite external scientists to talk about their career paths. They can be academics from different field of studies from/in Germany, Iran or other countries.
LEADERSHIP
The Career Academy network decides about the activities, and organises itself, but is supported by the Iranian Highlands coordination project. Two speakers/chairs will be selected.
NEW IDEAS WELCOME
The Career Academy is open to other formats for exchanging ideas and gaining knowledge. Get involved!
